    Sales are private and the sole responsibility of the parties involved. modesto fixed gear takes no responsibility for the postings, content of the postings or final transactions. Buyers must assume an "All Sales Final" rule is in play, unless an agreement is made between buyer and seller.

    Sellers are not allowed to post links or reference their ebay auctions, craigslist posts, sales on other forums, auction sites or websites, etc.

    Sellers MUST post an asking price for their items.

    Listing broken or potentially dangerous items is strictly prohibited.

    Buying, Selling or Trading stolen goods is strictly prohibited. You account will be immediately closed.

    Prices are at the sole discretion of the seller. If you are unhappy with a price or find something unfair, contact the seller or a moderator via a whisper. Do not openly complain about pricing.

    Members who only use this forum as a means for selling items may have their postings removed and/or their account deleted.

    Please remove a post or delete items once they have sold. You may remove a post by whispering it to yourself, or by asking a mod to delete. Or label it clearly as SOLD.

    Only bicycle or cycling related items are allowed in the For Sale thread.

    Commercial Sales and Out of Town Sellers

    Commercial sales of any sort are strictly prohibited in the for sale thread. This includes, but is not limited to: bike shops, wholesalers, boutiques, blogs and pop up stores. However, URL’s to commercial sites, etc are allowed in your signature, see below.

    “Out of town” sellers are permitted to post items in the for sale thread. However, this is a courtesy and “out of town” sellers who only use this forum to repeatedly post items will have their listings removed and/or account deleted.

    Frequency of Listing Items

    You must wait at least 14 days before re-posting an item

    You may only post the same item 3 times in the period of 4 months

    You cannot repost your item if there is a change in terms and it has not been 14 days. You may, however, edit your original post.

    You may, however use your signature or profile page to post links outside of SFFixed or information regarding your items for sale. This includes ebay, craigslist, commercial or other sites.

    "Deleting" your old thread and re-posting a new one in an attempt to make it look like it's your first posting or you are within the timeline is strictly prohibited. We have a way of tracking this. Failure to follow this rule may result in immediate loss of sales privileges.

    All for sale postings are at the discretion of the moderators and can be deleted without warning at any time. We will attempt to leave you a whispered note should we delete your listing.

    Guidelines for better selling

    When you post an item for sale, be specific. List measurements, condition, age, etc. Ask a moderator if you need help.

    Do your research. Check online to see what information you can find. Include what you find in your listing or a link to it.

    Be honest and courteous

    If you do not want to ship your item, clearly state it in your listing

    Use whispers to ask both moderators and sellers questions

    Use English to the best of your ability.

    Flipping items purchased from other members on this forum for a profit is frowned upon, but the ultimate decision is yours. Be courteous about this and at the very least, attempt to contact the original seller to come to an agreement. More or less, use common sense.
